Plastic crown for a single tooth restoration in the upper jaw visible area
Laboratory-fabricated crowns made of plastic, for a single-tooth restoration, are the guarantee for a high-quality long-term provisional restoration. The price of a plastic crown for a single tooth gap varies depending on the selected plastic material. A possible reimbursement claim of a health insurance patient under optimal conditions will follow shortly.
Plastic crown, for a single tooth restoration / bridge / long-term provisional
Our full crowns made of plastic, you can put together individually in our shop. Of course we need some information about your order, so that we can make the plastic crown perfectly for you. In the following we will explain to you what information we need and also explain how the final price for one or more plastic crowns is made up.
Unique basic unit per jaw
The basic unit per jaw for a plastic crown is only charged once by us, regardless of whether you order one crown or several plastic crowns in one jaw from us. We use it to create a segmented working model for all further work on a perfectly fitting plastic crown. The segmented model produced with the basic unit also serves as a template for subsequent orders. If you need crowns or bridges in both the upper and lower jaw, please choose the basic unit for two jaws. The price of a plastic crown for a single tooth gap can vary depending on the selected plastic material.
Material selection
depending on the length of the wearing period, load capacity, e.g. on implants or for crunching, and aesthetic requirements, you can choose from 3 different materials.
1) Inexpensive: PMMA tooth-coloured plastic (not suitable for allergy sufferers) for short wearing time, maximum 2 months.
2) Medium-priced: Polyan tooth shades, better aesthetics, suitable for allergy sufferers, for long wearing time.
3) High-priced: CAD Themp Multicolor multilayer for very good aesthetics, suitable for allergy sufferers, more durable, for long wearing time.
Long-term temporary denture
A long-term temporary denture is the temporary restoration of prepared (ground) teeth over a longer period of time.
Ground teeth are usually intended for a later crown, bridge or telescope restoration.
Temporaries and laboratory-fabricated long-term temporaries, serve generally:
protect the prepared tooth from thermal, mechanical and chemical stimuli
the protection of the dentine, in case of ground teeth and from bacterial damage
for better aesthetics (optics) and phonetics (speech formation)
to ensure the chewing function
for securing the (gingival) oral mucosa during longer periods of wear
to secure the tooth position
Long-term provisional arrangements still have many tasks that go beyond this
With their help, planned changes of the jaw relation, after a successful splint therapy, can be tested in the newly determined positional relationship of upper and lower jaw to each other.
With long-term temporaries, the occlusion can be checked (the interaction of the upper and lower teeth during chewing) and observed over a longer period of time before the final restoration is fitted.
They also serve to bridge healing phases, e.g. after surgical interventions, root canal treatments and after periodontal therapy.
For the observation of the ability to maintain questionable teeth, which are important for further prosthetic treatment (dentures).
For changing the aesthetics, the tooth colour or in case of changes in shape.
For checking phonetics and correcting the position of teeth with crowns.
For the treatment of tumour patients.
More and more often, laboratory-produced long-term temporaries are used, in the rejection phase, in case of metal allergies.
What are the requirements for long-term temporaries?
Hygiene capability
Colour stability
Abrasion resistance (low abrasion)
Resilience
Mouth Resistance
Possibility of repair and supplementation, e.g. for changing the occlusion
Manufacturing process
Long-term temporaries are usually made of the following plastics:
Full crowns made of polymethymethacrylate (PMMA), in various quality grades and made of glass fibre reinforced plastic frameworks with a composite veneer.
PMMA plastics can be produced classically, with a mixing process of powder/liquid, or with digital CADCAM technology, by milling from industrially highly compressed plastic blocks.
Another new digital manufacturing process is 3D printing.
Milling blocks for the CADCAM milling technique are offered in different colours, monochrome (monochrome) and multicoloured (multicolour).
The patient can therefore decide how high his aesthetic demands on his long-term temporary are. The multicolor milling blocks offered are more expensive than monochrome blocks.
Wallossek Dentaltechnik manufactures all long-term temporaries in the digital CADCAM procedure.
For various reasons, long-term temporaries are removed, reattached, ground down, built up and modified several times during the wearing period.
In this process, digitally fabricated temporaries have a clear advantage over conventional handmade temporaries. Digitally constructed temporaries can be reproduced 1to1 at any time and the raw materials used are clear, less allergenic.
Smaller size temporaries can be made in the patient's mouth using direct technique in the dental office by taking an impression before grinding the tooth in question.
Existing implants
Implants help them to improve the fit of a crown in case of several missing teeth. If you already have implants in your mouth, you can enter the number of existing implants to the right of the plastic crown. We need the number of existing implants so that we can match the implant crowns perfectly to the existing implants and calculate them.
Pin abutment
A prefabricated post structure is necessary if the affected tooth is damaged, which makes further retention of the tooth crown necessary. In this case 1.4 of the subsidies of the statutory health insurance companies apply. The subsidy is granted per tooth and amounts to at least 30.70€ and increases with an optimal bonus booklet by up to 30% (39.91€) and is granted per tooth. A prefabricated post build-up is carried out by the dentist and therefore does not result in additional costs for us.
A cast post build-up is necessary if the affected tooth is damaged, which makes further retention of the tooth crown necessary. In this case 1.5 of the subsidies of the statutory health insurance companies apply. The subsidy is granted per tooth and amounts to at least € 93.95 and increases by up to 30% (€ 122.14) with an optimal bonus booklet and is also granted per tooth.
Veneering for a perfect appearance
Should you wish to have an additional veneer due to individual characterization or special aesthetic requirements, you can also indicate the necessary number to the right of the product. Veneering and individual characterization of plastic crowns are purely private services, they are not covered by the statutory health insurance. We will be happy to advise you in detail about the possibilities and advantages of our plastic crowns.
